OAK HILL POTTERY “AUTUMN COLLECTION”

The Oak Hill Pottery Autumn Collection was inspired by the Forests and Foliage of Maine. In fact, the rich effects of many of these glazes were created in part from the Wood Ash of Maine trees!

Oak Hill Pottery is gracefully hand thrown of “Danish Porcelain”, a fine-toothed stoneware. It is lightweight, yet durable and always dishwasher safe and lead-free.

A variety of glazing and high-firing processes are used: Some of the pieces are Salt Fired to cone 10 either in Reduction or by Oxidation firings. Some are Reduction Fired to cone 12 and glazed with multiple glazes. Other pieces in the “Spring Collection” are painted in many layers and then are fired in Electric Kilns to cones 8 and 9.

Shari Greenfield has been a professional Potter since 1972. Her work has been displayed and sold throughout the country. At present her work is featured in “Mainely Pottery: 30 Maine Potters”, (Belfast ME), Archipelago (Rockland, Me), The Sand Castle (Southwest Harbor, ME), The Maine Gathering (Camden, ME), and “North Country Textiles and Fine Crafts” (Blue Hill, ME).
